"Millis began to walk alone February 24,
1885, parting on that date of its incorporation from Medway. Like
so many other towns, it can trace its ancestry back to Dedham, since
Medway was until 1713, a part of Medfield, and Medfield was until
1650, included in the old town of Dedham, which had a beginning
in 1636, and that is harking back to the Puritans."

Somerville is a city located in Middlesex County,
Massachusetts, just two miles north of Boston. Occupying slightly
over 4 square miles, its population of 77,478 (as of the 2000 census)
and a myriad of immigrants from all over the world make Somerville
the most densely populated community in New England and one of the
most ethnically diverse cities in the nation.
Somerville was first settled in 1630 as a part of
Charlestown, and was established as a town in 1842, when it was
separated from the urbanizing Charlestown because it was still largely
rural. Somerville was officially incorporated as a city in 1872
due to its growing population and increasing industrialization.
By the early 1900s, Somerville itself had become a densely packed
urban area, featuring immigrants from across Europe.

West Newbury was first settled in 1635 as part of
neighboring Newbury. On February 18, 1819, the General Court of
Massachusetts passed an act "to incorporate the town of Parsons.
The initial proposals had been made in the late 18th century, but
determined resistance from the town of Newbury, which had already
lost Newburyport, blocked the measure for decades. On June 14, 1820,
the court passed another act to change the name to West Newbury.

Woburn, Massachusetts, is located about 10 miles

and roughly halfway between Lowell and Boston. L-shaped and comprising
13 square miles of land, it is a small city of approximately 38,000
people.
First settled in 1640 and incorporated as a distinct
township in 1642, it is thus one of the oldest and most historic
communities in New England.

The town was founded in 1640 by settlers from Newbury,
and was originally known as Pentucket, which is the native American
word for "place of the winding river." The town was renamed
for the city of Haverhill, England, where many of the original settlers'
families were from. In 1701 it was nearly destroyed in an attack
by the Abenaki Native Americans. Haverhill played a role in nearly
every era of American history, from the initial colonial settlement,
to the French and Indian Wars, the Revolutionary War, and the Civil
War.

Boston (pronounced /'b?st?n/ (help·info))
is the capital and largest city in Massachusetts, and is one of
the oldest cities in the United States. The largest city in New
England, Boston is sometimes regarded as the unofficial "Capital
of New England" for its economic and cultural impact.[11] Boston
city proper had a 2008 estimated population of 620,535, making it
the twenty-first largest in the country.[6] Boston is also the anchor
of a substantially larger metropolitan area called Greater Boston,
home to 4.5 million people and the tenth-largest metropolitan area
in the country.[8] Greater Boston as a commuting region includes
six Massachusetts counties, Essex, Middlesex, Norfolk, Suffolk,
Plymouth, and Worcester,[12] all of Rhode Island and parts of New
Hampshire; it is home to 7.5 million people, making it the fifth-largest
Combined Statistical Area in the United States.[9][13]

in December 1630, because it was located safely up river from Boston
Harbor, which made it easily defensible from attacks by enemy ships.

Stoughton was first settled in 1713 and was officially
incorporated in 1726. It was named after William Stoughton, who
was the first chief justice of Colonial Courts and the notorious
chief justice of the Salem Witch Trials.
The Suffolk Resolves were written in Old Stoughton
(current day Milton, Massachusetts) at Doty's Tavern.[1] They are
thought to be the basis for the Declaration of Independence. The
meeting included Rev. Samuel Dunbar and Paul Revere, while the site
was chosen by Samuel Adams and Dr. Joseph Warren.
